Sawmill Mountain stands on the boundary between Kern and Ventura counties in California, within the Chumash Wilderness. Its summit is the highest point in Kern County and the second-highest point in Los Padres National Forest. In elevation it sits just below nearby Mount Pinos, which reaches 8,847 feet. That makes Mount Pinos the highest point in Ventura County and places it 29 feet higher than Sawmill Mountain.
