Nature
Catfish Mountain is a 1,560-foot peak in the Kittatinny Mountains of northwestern New Jersey within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It lies along the Appalachian Trail, making it part of one of the eastern United States' best known long-distance footpaths. The mountain rises above Catfish Pond to the southwest, and the pond drains through Yards Creek as it passes through Catfish Pond Gap. Together these features place the summit within the connected ridges, gaps, and streams that shape this section of the Kittatinny range.
