Everett Knoll Complex, or Everett Mound, is a Hopewell archaeological site near Everett in northeastern Ohio within Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Dating to the late Hopewell period, roughly 200 to 500 AD, it includes a small earthen mound about 16 feet across and nearby habitation areas. At the mound’s center, excavators found a pit containing a hexagonal limestone crypt capped with silty clay, along with stone and copper artifacts and human and animal remains. Pottery sherds, stone tools, and charred animal bones from nearby areas indicate settlement around the mound. The site is significant as a rare and unusually small example of Hopewell presence in northeast Ohio.
