Ohio has a rich outdoor heritage enjoyed by all and funded largely by sportsmen and women through federal aid in wildlife and sport fish restoration programs. Annually, close to $400 millions of dollars are dedicated to fish and wildlife restoration, research, education, and recreational access projects across the country. These efforts have resulted in millions of acres of habitat saved and significant population increases for game and sport fish species, some of which had nearly disappeared from the state and are now routinely enjoyed by hunters, anglers, and wildlife enthusiasts.
