Menominee River State Park and Recreation Area is a cross-border protected landscape in northeast Wisconsin along the Menominee River, paired with a companion recreation area in Michigan. Established in 2010 through a two-state conservation effort, it built on earlier land donations in 1997 and a major Wisconsin land purchase that same year. Covering 7,652 acres in the towns of Niagara, Pembine, and Beecher, the Wisconsin property remains largely undeveloped, with primitive campsites and the Pemene Falls Trail supporting low-impact recreation. Its river corridor offers a scenic paddling route, fishing, seasonal hunting, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, with the landscape valued chiefly for its natural, backcountry character.
