Nature
The Upper Charles River Reservation is a Massachusetts state park that preserves a long corridor of Charles River banks from Watertown to Dedham and Boston’s West Roxbury neighborhood. Managed as a connected sequence of riverfront parks, parkways, and open spaces rather than one compact site, it passes through several communities and links varied destinations such as Hemlock Gorge Reservation, Nahanton Park, Cutler Park, Brook Farm, Millennium Park, and the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation. Its importance lies in protecting public access to the river, supporting walking and cycling, and connecting historic, industrial, suburban, and natural landscapes across densely settled Greater Boston.
