A prominent Greek Revival building in the Main Street Historic District, the Methodist church was built in 1858. In 1869 the church society built the present commodious parsonage on the lot adjoining the church. The church building was constructed by Alfred Jenkins and Harvey White and was dedicated by Reverends Lucius H. King and James Burch in February of 1859. The Bell Clock was donated to the town by Frank J. Gould in 1895. Originally located in the nearby school building, as the old building was demolished and a new school facility was being built, the bell clock was relocated to the church by Finley Shepard in 1939. The bell clock and its original mechanisms has been continuously maintained by volunteers and is a featured attraction during celebrations of Roxbury's history.
