Bly Ranger Station in south-central Oregon is a historic United States Forest Service compound that became the headquarters for managing the western part of the Fremont National Forest. Developed on a four-acre site acquired in 1935, the station was built between 1936 and 1942 by Civilian Conservation Corps workers and local laborers to designs by E.U. Blanchfield. Its seven original buildings, constructed in the Cascadian rustic style from native stone and local pine, survive with a CCC-built stone wall along the highway. Unlike many remote ranger stations reduced after World War II, Bly remained active, preserving an unusually intact CCC-era Forest Service district headquarters.
