Long Ridge
Nature
Long Ridge is a hill in the Santa Cruz Mountains of the San Francisco Bay Area near Highway 35 and the boundary between San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Rising to about 2,600 feet on private property, it is the highest point in San Mateo County. A nearby hill to the northeast reaches 2,566 feet, and Long Ridge sometimes receives snow in winter. The Long Ridge Open Space Preserve takes its name from this ridge, linking the preserve’s identity to one of the area’s notable geographic high points.
