Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905, the William A. Glasner House in Glencoe, Illinois, is a Prairie School home known for its low, horizontal design and close relationship to its site. Its significance also lies in William A. Glasner’s personal link to Wright, which led to the architect’s commission for the Pettit Memorial Chapel through Glasner’s sister, Emma Pettit. The house later faced possible demolition, but preservation efforts by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy helped secure a buyer committed to saving it. A major restoration after its 2003 sale ensured the survival of this notable Wright residence.
