Pyramid Canyon is a canyon on the Colorado River at the Nevada–Arizona state line, between Cottonwood Valley to the north and Mohave Valley to the south, with the Newberry Mountains on the west and Arizona’s Black Mountains on the east. Once a deep canyon carved by the free-flowing river, it was fundamentally changed when Davis Dam was built there. The canyon is now occupied by the lower reach of Lake Mohave, the reservoir formed by the dam, leaving the original river canyon preserved only as part of a controlled water landscape.
