Grapevine Canyon in southern Nevada lies within Lake Mead National Recreation Area and extends through parts of the Bridge Canyon Wilderness Area and the Spirit Mountain Wilderness. Reached from Nevada State Route 163 via Lower Grapevine Canyon Road, it is most notable for the Grapevine Canyon Petroglyphs, which show use by the Mohave people. The canyon may have functioned as a ritual place and as a site for observing the summer solstice, giving it cultural significance beyond its stark desert surroundings. In years without drought, a fresh water spring flows through the canyon, sustaining a band of shrubs and helping explain its repeated human use over time.
