Katherine Landing is a major recreation and access area on Arizona’s side of the Colorado River and Lake Mohave, north of Bullhead City in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. About 2 miles upstream from Davis Dam and reached by Arizona State Route 68, it takes its name from the nearby Katherine Mine, a gold mine worked in the late 1800s. More than 1.2 million visitors use the area annually. Its slipway, floating dock, boat rentals, restaurant, convenience store, 53-unit motel, RV park, and campground make it an important center for boating, fishing, and lakeside recreation.
