Walter Zeiders came from Pennsylvania to California on a motorcycle in 1909 at the age of 23 with $17 cash. He worked as a ranch hand for William Newport. He married Frances Evans in 1913. They had three sons: Cecil, Leslie and Merle. Walter constructed a house and workshop in 1932, a Pennsylvania Dutch style barn in 1938, and a granary in 1945. At one time Walter farmed 5,000 acres in Menifee.
