Taylor Peak is a 13,435-foot summit in Colorado's Elk Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains, on the boundary of Gunnison and Pitkin counties and between White River and Gunnison national forests. Lying south of Aspen and west of the Continental Divide, it stands between two drainage systems: water from its west slope reaches the Roaring Fork River through Cooper Creek and Castle Creek, while its east slope feeds the headwaters of the Taylor River. Although its overall relief is considered modest, it rises sharply above the Taylor River nearby. Recognized officially in name and documented since at least 1891, it remains one of the prominent thirteener peaks of the Elk Mountains.
