Mount Warlow is a 13,206-foot summit in the remote high country of northern Kings Canyon National Park, near Muir Pass on the Goddard Divide. Ranked as California’s 108th highest peak and commonly approached by the John Muir Trail, it is named for Chester H. Warlow, a Fresno attorney, civic leader, and conservationist who helped secure the creation of the park. He explored the High Sierra regularly from 1913 to 1930 and later served as California Highway Commissioner. First recorded climbed in 1926, the mountain also reflects the Sierra’s alpine climate, former glaciation, and drainage toward both the Kings and San Joaquin river systems.
