Dustin Marshall Huffman lived with a pay-it-forward attitude and was always ready to help, even a stranger. Remembered for his goodness, touch of orneriness, and smile that could light up a room, he died tragically on June 30, 2009, after losing his footing while working nearby for a local tree service. He had an old-fashioned work ethic and was an outstanding athlete who won a state championship title in track just three weeks earlier. Revered as a great teammate, he put his heart into everything he did and often encouraged others to do the same. He is remembered for his love of life and compassion for others, and the Dustin Huffman Memorial Scholarship was created to honor his memory and encourage others to respect life, work hard, and help others as he did.
