Scusset Beach State Reservation in Sandwich, Massachusetts, sits at the east end of the Cape Cod Canal on the mainland side of the waterway. Occupying land once part of the Sagamore Hill Military Reservation, it includes a sandy beach and dunes on Cape Cod Bay, a stone jetty separating the canal from the beach, and Sagamore Hill, which served as a Native American meeting ground and later held World War II coastal fortifications. The area is both a major recreation site and an important public vantage point, with accessible beach facilities, camping, fishing areas, and a paved canal-side route for walking, bicycling, skating, and viewing ships and wildlife.
