Pleasant Grove School, also called the Old Bell School, was built in 1861 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, as one of the town’s early school buildings. Designed by Henry Greenhalgh and built by mason William H. Adams Sr. and carpenter William Paul, it stood out for its arched ceiling and strong acoustics. As the town grew, the building’s use evolved from lower-grade education to an early home of Pleasant Grove High School, then to civic purposes including a library. In 1940 part became a museum for the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and in 1946 it was dedicated as a permanent pioneer memorial building and park before gaining National Register recognition in 1980.
