Battle Creek Falls is a perennial waterfall on the western flank of Mount Timpanogos, east of Pleasant Grove in Utah County, where Battle Creek drops over a cliff onto bare rock. Reached by trail in Battle Creek Canyon, the falls and their spring-fed source are accessible year-round, though the flow swells with late-spring snowmelt and often freezes in winter. In this semi-arid canyon, the creek supports a varied corridor of trees and wildflowers. The name Battle Creek preserves an 1849 massacre of a small band of Ute people by Mormon settlers acting under Brigham Young’s orders; the canyon, creek, falls, and early settlement name all stem from that event.
