Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area is a 2,100-acre state park in Laughlin, Nevada, on the west bank of the Colorado River in the Lower Colorado River Valley. Its character comes from the contrast between two miles of river shoreline and riparian habitat and a larger area of desert canyons and washes, offering both water access and inland hiking terrain. The park’s creation began with the Fort Mohave Land Act of 1960, and 2,100 acres were transferred to the Nevada Division of State Parks in 1991. Opened in 1996, it serves as a riverfront destination for boating, fishing, camping, picnicking, and hiking.
