Matterhorn
Nature
Matterhorn is the highest peak in Nevada’s Jarbidge Mountains, with its summit in the Jarbidge Wilderness of Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest under the Jarbidge Ranger District. It is also Nevada’s fifteenth-most topographically prominent peak, standing out sharply above the surrounding landscape. The mountain took its name from the better-known Matterhorn in the Alps, chiefly because of the steep cliffs near its summit on the north and northeast sides.
