Barr Creek Falls is a tall waterfall in the Rogue River Canyon near Prospect, Oregon, where Barr Creek drops over a cliff into the Rogue River through canyon walls of petrified volcanic ash from the Mount Mazama eruption. Also known as Bear Creek Falls, it shares the cliff with nearby Mill Creek Falls. The waterfall descends in three main stages, including a final 150-foot plunge, for a total drop of about 240 feet, placing it among Oregon’s tallest waterfalls. Its name comes from a fence, called a “barr,” that once ran beside the creek to keep cattle from straying from the Red Blanket Ranch.
