Mount Wolverine is a 10,795-foot peak in Utah’s Wasatch Range, between Alta Ski Area and Brighton Ski Resort in the Wasatch–Cache National Forest southeast of Salt Lake City. Part of the Rocky Mountains, it is distinguished by steep local relief, with its summit rising about 1,800 feet above Little Cottonwood Canyon in roughly a mile. The mountain also marks a divide between two canyon watersheds, with runoff from its north slope feeding Big Cottonwood Creek and its south slope draining toward Little Cottonwood Creek. Composed of granodiorite from the Alta stock, it has a subarctic climate nearing alpine conditions, with snowy winters, cool to warm summers, and year-round precipitation.
