Timpanogos Cave offers a hike past stunning vistas into a hidden underground world where visitors twist and bend to enter beautifully decorated rooms, explore the science behind cave formations, and encounter stories of cave exploration and preservation. The cave and visitor center are scheduled to open on or about May 22 for the summer season. Although temperatures inside the caves are always 43 to 48 degrees F, temperatures on the cave trail can range from the 30s to above 100 degrees F depending on the time of year. Carrying drinking water is a necessity, especially in summer. In the mountains, weather can create challenges, and the cave and cave trail remain open in rain unless it is heavy enough to bring rockfall, but they close for high winds, rockfall, or lightning storms.
