Hayden Glacier
Nature
Hayden Glacier is a small mountain glacier in Oregon’s Cascade Range, lying at roughly 8,800 to 7,800 feet on a high volcanic landscape between Middle Sister and North Sister. Set on the rugged upper slopes of the central Cascades, it occupies sheltered terrain where ice can persist despite the generally modest size of glaciers in the range. Along with other small glaciers in the Three Sisters area, it contributes to the region’s distinct alpine character and reflects the volcanic setting shaped by two extinct volcanoes.
