Kidder Covered Bridge spans the South Branch Saxtons River near the center of Grafton, Vermont, on Kidder Hill Road. Built around 1870, it was the town’s last surviving 19th-century covered bridge and a rare single-span queenspost truss, the only one of its type in Windham County. Its skewed alignment across the river made it one of only a few skewed covered bridges in Vermont. Modest in size, it was noted as the shortest historic covered bridge in the county. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it was replaced in 1995 by a new covered wooden bridge that preserved the site’s historic appearance and local bridge-building tradition.
