Calabasas Peak is a mountain in the Santa Monica Mountains in Calabasas, California, rising as the high point of a broad ascent beside Mulholland Highway. Reached by the Calabasas Peak Motorway, it is valued less for a sharply distinct summit than for its approach through chaparral and dwarf forest shrubbery and its setting within the range. The summit has larger rock formations, sandy ground, and a bench as a simple landmark. Deer, rattlesnakes, and coyotes are common here. Cooler than Calabasas below, the peak rarely sees snow. Fires in 2016 and 2018 burned parts of the mountain and trail, but vegetation and wildlife returned quickly.
