Mount Oberlin is an 8,184-foot mountain in Glacier National Park’s Lewis Range, just northwest of Logan Pass in one of the park’s most familiar alpine settings. Dr. Lyman B. Sperry, a member of an exploring party in the Glacier Park region, named it in 1895 for his employer, Oberlin College. The mountain is closely tied to Bird Woman Falls, as water and melting snow from its northwest side feed the 492-foot waterfall below, one of the tallest in the park. It remains a prominent part of the dramatic high-country scenery around Logan Pass and a recognizable summit in the park’s central mountains.
