Tomkins Knob is a 4,075-foot mountain in North Carolina’s High Country near Deep Gap, with most of it lying within the Blue Ridge Parkway. Its summit area is where Ashe, Watauga, and Wilkes counties meet, and the Eastern Continental Divide crosses the mountain, giving it unusual geographical importance. Water from one side flows by way of West Fork Pine Swamp Creek into the South Fork New River, while the other side drains through South Prong Lewis Fork toward the Yadkin River. Laurel Spur Ridge extends south from the mountain, and Husons Ridge runs northwest along the Ashe–Watauga county line.
