The Spire was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright as part of the Arizona State Capitol project from 1957. It stands 125 feet high and was formally illuminated on 28 April 2004. Taliesin Architects and project architect Arnold Roy of Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona, were associated with the work.
