South Carter Mountain is a summit in Coos County, New Hampshire, within the White Mountains and the Carter-Moriah Range along the northeastern side of Pinkham Notch. In that ridge, it lies between Middle Carter Mountain to the northeast and Mount Hight to the southeast. The mountain is part of the White Mountain National Forest and is counted among New Hampshire’s four-thousand-foot mountains, marking it as one of the state’s notable high peaks.
