Wildcat Mountain is a ridge-top mountain complex in northern New Hampshire’s Carter-Moriah Range, rising above Pinkham Notch and facing Mount Washington. Instead of a single summit, it consists of five named high points along about 2 miles of Wildcat Ridge, with Wildcat A the highest and Wildcat D also recognized among the state’s four-thousand-footers. Wildcat E was once thought higher than D, but updated mapping reclassified it as a subpeak. The mountain is closely associated with White Mountains hiking, as the Appalachian Trail crosses the ridge, and with skiing through the Wildcat Mountain Ski Area and the long Wildcat Valley Trail descending to Jackson.
