The Veterans Walk of Honor honors and remembers those who served in defense of their country so that all may enjoy freedom, invoking John McRae’s words from "In Flanders Fields" about the dead in France during World War I and the charge to carry on their cause, along with John Gillespie Magee Jr.’s "High Flight," which reflects on soaring through the skies and touching the face of God.
