The cemetery contains the graves of Samuel Johnson, the first president of King’s College in the Province of New York from 1754 to 1763 A.D., and his son William Samuel Johnson, the first president of Columbia College in the City of New York from 1787 to 1800 A.D. They are remembered as leaders of the people through their counsels and their knowledge of learning, wise and eloquent in their instructions.
