Old Rehoboth Episcopal Church served as the parish church of Coventry Parish on this site for more than two hundred years. The present building was erected in 1740 and served a large congregation until about 1900, when it fell into decay and was abandoned. Its partial restoration was marked by a service of dedication held on September 23rd, 1928, by the Rt. Rev. George W. Davenport, Bishop of the Diocese, and visiting clergy. The restoration honored God and recognized the services of Cassius McDashiell of Princess Anne, Maryland, through whose efforts the walls were capped, the altar was built, and the floor was said.
