Arts & Culture
In September 1852, the famous Norwegian violinist Ole Bornemann Bull established a colony of fellow Norwegians near this site. From this vantage point, he began building his castle, a large wooden cabin that was never completed. Only the foundation and a stone retaining wall along the mountainside remain. After a year of severe hardships, the colony disbanded and moved west.
