Vermeer founder Gary Vermeer and his wife Matilda spent their entire married lives in this modest ranch-style home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For the Vermeer family, the house was the setting for countless family dinners and traditions, with Matilda known for her hospitality as she cooked meals while the family gathered at the kitchen table to play cards and share the day's stories. The home has since been converted into a small museum, and in keeping with Matilda's hospitality, Vermeer hosts dinners and get-togethers with customers and dealers in the family dining room. Behind the home, a community garden allows team members to reserve space during the summer to grow fresh fruits and vegetables, while the surrounding fields continue to serve as a place where customers and dealers learn about and watch innovative products at work. More than seven decades after the founder began that legacy, the family-owned company continues to welcome customers and dealers into it.
