Mansfield's sesquicentennial celebration included a tribute to Mansfield alumni, students, faculty, staff, and founders who served the country in the Armed Services, offered with deep gratitude for the many sacrifices made to guarantee freedom and a way of life. It also invokes the lines, “Thy martyred sons were glad to fall That Liberty might live for all,” from “Old Pennsylvania of Mine!” by Will George Butler, Class of 1897.
