Cogan House Covered Bridge, built in 1877 over Larrys Creek in north-central Pennsylvania, is a 19th-century wooden road bridge using a Burr arch truss and carrying a single lane. Constructed by millwright Valentine Meyers after residents sought a permanent replacement for an unreliable ford, it was assembled first beside a sawmill, then moved and rebuilt on stone abutments. The oldest and longest of Lycoming County’s three remaining covered bridges, it is closely tied to the vanished lumber and tannery economy of the creek valley. It survived the devastating June 1889 flood that destroyed most other bridges on Larrys Creek and remains a traditional historic structure despite later restoration and poor modern condition ratings.
