The Sullivan Museum and History Center at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, preserves and presents nearly 200 years of the university’s history and its ties to American military life. Named for General Gordon R. Sullivan and opened in 2007, it houses permanent and rotating exhibitions that explore the experiences of Norwich staff, students, and friends in both military service and private life. Its collections include alumni uniforms, university ephemera, fine art, folk art, and audiovisual materials, totaling more than 20,000 objects as of March 2023. It was the first museum in Vermont affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution and serves both campus and public audiences year-round.
