Veterans of the American Revolution who are buried in Wisconsin served the nation in the war for independence and, by their efforts, helped found the country. After the American Revolution, some of these patriots moved west and settled in Wisconsin, and the bridge crossing the Wisconsin River 1.7 miles northwest honors them.
