Eagle Rest Peak is a remote mountain in the San Emigdio Mountains of southern Kern County, California, about 12 miles west of Grapevine and Interstate 5. Set away from the main travel corridor through the Tejon Pass area, it lies in a quieter part of the range with a distinctly backcountry character. The peak stands within Wind Wolves Preserve, a large protected landscape owned by The Wildlands Conservancy. Its importance today rests chiefly in that protected and undeveloped setting, which places it among the more isolated mountain landscapes of southern California rather than among the region’s more accessible roadside summits.
