Machado House
History
7
Machado House, built sometime between 1890 and 1905, has regional significance for Fremont’s cultural and architectural heritage. The site is associated with the historic Portuguese settlement known as Machado’s Corner, a Portuguese immigrant settlement in Fremont at the turn of the 20th century. The home is a good example of vernacular architecture representing the Queen Anne cottage type, a once common but now rare architectural style in the Fremont area.
