The Edmonds Historical Museum, established in 1973 in downtown Edmonds, Washington, occupies the city’s 1911 Carnegie Library, a building that also once housed city hall, council chambers, and a jail. Formed by the Edmonds–South Snohomish County Historical Society, the museum preserves the history of Edmonds and south Snohomish County through a collection of 32,000 items, including artifacts, oral histories, photographs, maps, books, clothing, documents, and early fire trucks. Its permanent displays recreate scenes from the town’s past, while rotating exhibits, a research library, and public artworks around the site extend its role as a center for local history and community memory.
