Hot Springs Mountain is a 6,533-foot peak in the Peninsular Ranges of eastern San Diego County, California, and the county’s highest point. Rising in a remote area near Warner Springs and Borrego Springs, it can receive snow in winter and is known for sweeping views across Southern California, reaching from nearby peaks to distant landmarks including Mount San Jacinto, Mount San Gorgonio, the Salton Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and Catalina Island. The mountain and surrounding land belong to the Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indians. Its summit area supports conifers, and a brief controversy arose when the tribe leased the area to Eagle Rock Training Center from 2010 to 2012.
