Bucksnort Mountain
Nature
Bucksnort Mountain stands in the Peninsular Ranges of Southern California, in San Diego County near the Riverside County line. Lying along the Pacific Crest Trail, it forms part of one of the region’s best-known long-distance mountain corridors. Its summit, Combs Peak, rises to 6,172 feet. From there, views stretch east toward Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, connecting the higher ridges of the Peninsular Ranges with the broad desert beyond. Bucksnort Mountain is chiefly known today as a trail-side mountain and scenic viewpoint in this rugged inland landscape.
