The Bell of Neola
History
1
The first white settlers came to Neola in 1906. By 1912 a log school house had been erected, and for many years it served for all public meetings. In 1916, donations purchased the bell that was placed on the building to call children to school and people to church. Neola is an Indian name meaning "the last move."
