All Saints Cemetery was consecrated in 1923, and its east side was later expanded to the west and consecrated by Samuel Cardinal Stritch on June 13, 1954. It is noted for roads designed to converge in concentric circles. The first Archdiocesan Cemeteries Interment Chapel, used for indoor committal services, was completed in 1961. A new Interment Chapel Office features a 40 foot carillon bell tower, and the complex achieved environmentally friendly green status through a vegetated roof and the maximizing of natural light. The Immaculate Heart of Mary Garden Mausoleum, dedicated by Francis Cardinal George on July 10, 2001, includes garden crypts arranged symmetrically around a seventy-five foot long black granite fountain beneath a sky-lit glass canopy. The Garden Mausoleum offers single and double crypts as well as niches for cremated human remains.
