Albert Hendrix, father of John Hendrix, entered service five times during the Revolutionary War for Independence. His verified pension statement recounts that he served with General Washington. He was awarded an annual pension of $99.56, which was then paid to his widow, Margaret Barnett Hendrix, after his death. Family heritage is further preserved at FRONTIER VILLAGE in Grayson County, Texas. The cabin of Jessie Elvis Hendrix, son of John, is maintained by volunteers. Records and artifacts pertaining to the Hendrix family and other pioneers are part of the permanent collection at FRONTIER VILLAGE, 111 RC Vaughan Road, Denison, TX 75020.
